Character Genotypes

The player is a street creature who is recruited by abominable powers from a grotesque sprawl, and taken into the house of a true monster.

By gathering items or making their affiliations more secure, they can gain access to unique areas and items. By becoming more corrupted by the touch of the mansion’s master, they might gain special powers or even immortality… at the risk of mutation, insanity, and giving up any morals they might have once had.

Possible genotypes for characters;
  • -Macchinista; A finely curved and attractive member of the engineer, arts and sciences caste. They have implants in their brains allowing for wireless connection to machines, but can also be mentally corrupted by such powers. They might be a former hacker, or a citizen that saw state secrets, and had to lay low with work in the mansion. Perhaps they did something that embarrassed a politically powerful family. A relatively normal looking human, even if their flesh has certain synthetic or discolored qualities.
  • -Proccessore; A more haggard and pale, downtrodden component of the chemical engineering or infrastructure maintenance workforce. They might look either thin and waifish or small and rotund depending on the exact task they were engineered for, but always have surprising strength and endurance due to a reinforced skeleton. Many have a serial number emblazoned on their chest for organization and tracking. They likely ended up here for not obeying work orders, trying to abandon their jobs, or violence towards others.
  • -Carnivoro; A half-animal person, with genes from a bioweapon of the void war. They might have been created as an assassin, an engineered bodyguard, or a rich Macchinista’s pet. They generally have heightened senses and reflexes, paired with strong emotional impulsivity- Some may even become more animalistic as they lose what scraps of humanity they have!
  • -Barbaro; A savage, nomadic wastelander, a primitive hunter-scavenger born from generations of wanderers in the hellish lands between the structs. They have strange genes and mutations, possibly half-animal, sprouting wings, bearing a singular eye, or other mutations. Many have arcane markings on their skin and strange lore in their words. They were probably picked up for trespassing. Many have a poor grasp of the struct languages but excellent survival skills.
  • -Prova; A strange experimental demi-human with no memory. They could be a patchwork zombie, a debased non-humanoid shaped thing (such as a flying head, or a cyborgized skeleton), or something like frankenstein’s monster with lots of exposed bolts and tubes. They start in the basement and are not trusted by the other staff.
